NetBux
Netbux has gone under!

Netbux has gone out of business!

Netbux (or Net Bux) appears to have gone out of business--the website is down--, and though I cannot say for certain how long they'll be gone, my guess is that they'll never return. Maybe someone else will buy the domain name from the current owner.

What was Netbux?

Netbux was a website that allowed you to search Google while looking at ads. Every time you made a search, they'd pay you money. They claimed that you could make hundreds of dollars a month.

Netbux also had a crude referral program which allowed you to refer people and earn a share of their earnings. My code was just over ID # 13000, meaning I joined when it started to catch on. Later, there were as many as half a million Netbux IDs--very popular.

How did it work?

In theory, Net Bux had advertisers pay them for every page view. This meant that in turn every who searched (and saw an ad) would be paid a small quantity of this money Netbux recieved. Also, there was a limit put in place on when you could be paid--only after making a certain amount of money could you be payed.

Also, Net Bux allowed users to "buy" unreferred users to add to their earnings. This was an additional source of income.

How did they pay?

Initially they claimed they would use Paypal, but they switched to Stormpay fairly quickly. They said they'd soon offer check payment too, but they closed before they could make this available. Net Bux also announced that they'd allow Paypal again in the future, but they closed before anyone was able to use Paypal.

Did they pay?

Actually, yes they did. But they were only able to make their first payment before they closed. I recieved approximately $70 in my Stormpay account. Too bad I'll never recieve my other money that I earned.

I imagine many people are mad that Netbux closed before they were paid, but I'm actually quite impressed they made even one payment!

Was it a scam?

I have no idea. All I know is that I recieved my first payment and that they closed a few days after that. My guess is that they weren't making enough money to sustain the business, but who knows. Perhaps you know better?

How do I join netbux?

You can't anymore. Didn't you read the page? You're more than welcome to visit their site, though, as I've linked to it above. You won't find anything.

Are there any other services like this?

Yes. Pay-Pup was operated by a friend of the owner of Netbux, although it appears they went out of business too. I won't be adding anymore here, as I'm tired of the pay to surf things. They're mostly fruitless, I believe. But I wish you luck in finding something useful!

How much money did you earn?

I hope this page was informative and helped you understand that Netbux is no longer in operation. I have no connections with Netbux and I can do nothing to bring them back. If you still have questions, email me at echelon@gmail.com.
