Why Riemann?
You're probably asking yourself, "Why the bloody camels did Merkey.net, a reputable website, choose Georg Friedrich Bernhard Riemann as its mascott?" In all liklihood, this question was prompted by the fact that Riemann is a mathematician and Merkey.net has nothing in the least to do with mathematics.
Franky, we have no answer for you.
We can, however, give you some facts about our awesome mascott!
The Importance
Without Riemann, you wouldn't be reading this right now. In fact, if Riemann had died in a medieval plague-infested Europe, we wouldn't have made a large number of significant scientific discoveries such as the n-dimensional universe, relativity, nuclear weapons, Al Gore, nor his world-famous internet. Thankfully for us, Riemann had not been living in the mid-14th century, when the plague was generally abound. Now, thanks to wonders of antibiotics—yet another famous Riemann invention—, the bubonic plage is all but a memory. Except, as the CDC warns us, in the year 1998 when the entire world was under attack by Martians. It is due to Riemann alone that we have the internet as a medium in which to do online day trading, and complain to our emo blogger friends, and recieve online rebates for Viagra. Oh joyous day!
Was Riemann a Puritan?
We can't be sure whether or not Riemann was an active member of the 17th century's hottest ticket, the Puritan movement. What we can tell you, however, is that at the time chicks really dug it. So unless Riemann happened to be a eunuch, he could have in fact been a Puritan.
With eyes like that, how could you not be Puritan?
Did Riemann watch anime?
Probably not. They didn't have TV in the time in which Riemann lived. He probably would've loved DBZ with all of its dimensions and grunting people and such; mathematicians generally enjoy DBZ more than the rest of us. At least he didn't have to suffer through reruns like the rest of us, though with his genius he could've invented TiVo in a few spare hours with the help of a paid immigrant from Portugal.
Maybe Riemann read manga, though... I heard you could import them back then.
As for Riemann's Famous Math?
Yes, yes. The math stuff.
All we know is that whatever he came up with makes pretty graphs like this one:
Isn't that neat?
How many images of Riemann can you stick on one page?
A lot.
Whee... this is fun!
Okay, I'm bored now. Next question!
I have no more questions! Enough already!
Either you suffer from intellectual laziness, or you are an ex-soviet spy trying to kill me. Oh well, I can see this is of no further interest to you. Begone, fiend, perchance you are an ex-soviet spy!
